About the Economic Warfare Insitute
We Identify Nontraditional Threats and Help Prepare for the Unthinkable
The American Center for Democracy and its Economic Warfare Institute is dedicated to exposing and monitoring nontraditional threats to the nation’s political and economic freedoms and national security.
We find what other traditional risk assessment and security companies have missed, identify gaps in research and development and help advance general and sector-specific non-conventional, pragmatic and effective risk management strategies “end to end” to mitigate threats and liability, increase resilience and survivability.
We identify methods and strategies used by radical regimes to subvert Western political and economic systems. Our Threatcon (threat readiness condition) program examines purposeful interference on our cyberspace and threats to U.S. civilian infrastructure, including the electric grid, communication, transportation, financial markets, banking and public health industries, and more. We also follow the spread of “political Islam,” identify its sponsors and methods used for terrorist financing and incitement, and propose new policies to address them. According to R. James Woolsey, former Director of Central Intelligence and a member of our Board of Directors, “The ACD’s ability to predict future threats is second to none.“
In addition, we provide knowledge based analysis and risk assessment in articles, white papers, regular postings on our Blog and on and off-the-record specialized briefings.
Who We Are
The Economic Warfare Institute (EWI) high-level multidisciplinary innovative expert team offers the ability to identify nontraditional threats to the nation’s civilian fabric and economic infrastructure.
Some ACD/EWI Projects:
The Sunlight Project: The Sunlight Project identifies, analyzes, and monitors threats to the U.S. economy, including cyberthreats, as well as acquisitions of U.S. strategic assets by Saudi Arabia, the Gulf States, China, and others in an effort to undermine economic and political freedom. The Project also collects, analyzes, and exposes Islamist-driven and -financed organizations that collaborate to subvert American and Israeli national security and political and economic freedom. Individuals and organizations leading these efforts, their agendas, and their financial and ideological links will be exposed.
The purpose of this blog is to help “connect the dots” between the activities of states, financial institutions, political movements, and NGOs, and threats to economic stability of the U.S. and its Western allies. The EWI Blog is a comprehensive resource covering global economic warfare, featuring expert analysts in finance, law, business, and defense and commentary on economic threats to the U.S. and the West. EWI experts focus on issues ranging from non-traditional economic threats by state and non-state actors, Islamic Banking and Terrorist Financing. Special emphasis is on news related to energy, finance, cyber, commodities and more.
